Lake Park, Ia (Northwest Iowa Now) – Harris-Lake Park hosted Sioux Central for some interconference basketball on Thursday night. Big Country 107.7 brought you the broadcast.
In the girls contest, the Wolves had the edge after the first quarter 13-12, and extended that lead going into the half, up by 4. It was a great defensive effort by Harris-Lake Park in the 3rd Quarter, outscoring the Rebels 15-5 to lead 40-25 going in the 4th quarter. Sioux Central was unable to pull back into the game, and Harris-Lake Park picked up an impressive 51-40 win.
H-LP was led in scoring by Peyton Reverts with 19 as the Wolves improve to 12-2 on the season.
Sioux Central drops to 10-5, getting a couple double digit scorers on the evening in Sage Weber and Avery Wilson.
In the Boys game, Sioux Central dominated, shutting out Harris-Lake Park 12-0 in the first quarter. The Wolves would be able to get to the basket a few times in the 2nd quarter, but the Rebels outscored them 16-7 in that frame to lead 28-7 at the half. The Sioux Central defense held H-LP to only 6 points in each of the final 2 quarters, routing the Wolves 59-19.
Owen Mills posted 22 points on the night for Sioux Central with Koen Glover adding 12.
Sioux Central is now 8-4 while Harris-Lake Park falls to 1-12.
Sioux Central will travel to South Central Calhoun tonight for some Twin Lakes Conference play while Harris-Lake Park hosts Sheldon for another non-conference matchup.
