Iowa/Minnesota (Northwest Iowa Now) — No travel is advised in many parts of northwest Iowa and southwest Minnesota.
Due to the strong winds causing blowing snow and limited visibility, the no travel advisory includes Clay, Palo Alto, Buena Vista, and Emmet counties in Iowa; as well as Jackson, Cottonwood, Nobles, Cottonwood and Martin counties in Minnesota. No travel advised means the roadway has deteriorated and/or visibility has been reduced to the point that it is very dangerous to travel. Motorists are advised not to travel in these areas until conditions improve.
Additional travel advisories are likely as conditions deteriorate further. Motorists should plan accordingly with an emergency supply kit and clothing for extreme cold if they need to travel.
