Spencer, Iowa (Northwest Iowa Now) —  A Curlew woman is facing multiple felony charges after a shoplifting incident escalated at the Spencer Walmart.

Spencer Police responded to a shoplifting complaint at the store on March 13th. Upon arrival, officers identified 44-year-old Danielle Marie Davis. She was initially charged with theft in the third degree, an aggravated misdemeanor, and possession of methamphetamine, a serious misdemeanor.

Further investigation, including a search of Davis’s vehicle with the assistance of Spencer K9 “Balou,” led to the discovery of an additional 20 grams of methamphetamine.

This resulted in additional charges, including possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver, a class B felony, failure to affix a drug tax stamp, a class D felony, and possession of drug paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor.

Davis was booked into the Clay County Jail without incident.
