Spencer, IA (Northwestiowanow.com) — A new person has been promoted to what is probably the most high-profile job in Clay County.

Fair Board Chairman Greg Lear says with the retirement of current CEO Jerome Hertel, the organization’s chief fundraiser was unanimously selected to take the helm.

Lear is personally pleased that Brockshus speaks farm.

As for short-term goals?

Jerome Hertel managed the 2023 and 2024 Clay County Fairs. Before that Jeremy Parsons – who now runs the Iowa State Fair – served for a dozen years.
