Spencer, IA (KICD)– 2023 was an overall good year for activity at the Clay County Fair and Events Center with staff and management expecting even more for the upcoming year.

CEO Jerome Hertel went before the Clay County Board of Supervisors this week to look back at last year, but also preview what is yet to come, which will feature a new event in March for rodeo lovers.

Then in June, the temporary population in Spencer is expected to more than double as people come all around for the Red Power Roundup that will in part celebrate a century of Farmall.

As far as projects, Hertel says they would like to make some improvements on facilities and the grounds that help bring in revenue, while also looking at over all safety like replacing the deck on the stage used for the annual SRG Concert Series.
