It was a big night for the Sioux Central Rebels as they move on to the State Tournament.

Sioux Central jumped out to a 14-10 lead over Pocahontas Area in the first quarter and extended the lead to 5 going into the half.

The two familiar teams were containing each other offensively in the low scoring affair, but the Rebels continued to grow their lead in the games highest scoring quarter, outshooting Pocahontas Area 21-13 in the 3rd.

In the 4th Quarter, Sioux Central went in to Constricting mode, holding Pocahontas Area without a point while only scoring 6 themselves on their way to a 51-32 win.

Both teams were able to take away some scoring threats from the other. Pocahontas Area contained Sioux Central’s Bradi Krager, who averaged 18.9 points per game, to only 4 on the night with no 3-point field goals. Pocahontas Area’s Jenna Vonnahme came in scoring at a 12.2 points per game click and the Rebels held her to only 4.

Madison Vial led Pocahontas Area with 12 points on the night while both Avery Wilson and Morgan Christian each scored 15 for Sioux Central.

Sioux Central joins Dike-New Hartford, Panorama, Westwood, Cascade, Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont, Central Lyon, and Grundy Center in the Class 2A State Tournament.
