Spencer, IA (KICD) — Due to the extreme, mass flooding in the city of Spencer, many people have been forced to evacuate their homes Saturday.

KICD News spoke with Public Works Director Mark White late Saturday afternoon, he wants the public to know the Waste Water Treatment Plant has been shut down:

Mayor Steve Bomgaars says it’s important for residents in Spencer to “shelter in place”.

A big thank you to all Law Enforcement, emergency personnel, city workers, and volunteers who helped sandbag and used boats for rescue efforts.
