Spencer, IA (northwestiowanow) — Iowa Attorney General Brenna Bird made a recent stop in Spencer as part of her reelection campaign.
Bird says economic challenges facing farmers continue to be a major concern across the state.
Bird said her office has been involved in litigation and advocacy efforts she believes help protect Iowa agriculture, including support for year-round E15 sales and legal challenges involving regulations affecting livestock producers.
The attorney general also highlighted efforts focused on protecting children and assisting crime victims, including the creation of a Special Victims Unit within her office.
Bird additionally pointed to lawsuits her office has filed against several technology companies, saying parents deserve accurate information about products and platforms marketed to children.
If reelected, Bird said she plans to continue pursuing cases involving online safety, combating scams and working with law enforcement agencies across Iowa.
Bird will be going up against Democratic candidate Nate Willems in the November 3 General Election.
