Des Moines, IA — State Climatologist Justin Glisan joined us Thursday as we looked back at the month of October. Glisan broke down the statewide temperature stat for the month, and it turns out October was the third warmest on record in Iowa.
Glisan also breaks down statewide precipitation totals.
We’ve seen wet conditions in both September and October, and part of the reason is the strong El Niño, which is pushing moisture into the Upper Midwest, including Iowa.
Glisan breaks down the Spencer COOP data.
A strong warm and dry pattern is taking shape for the first couple of weeks of November, and we’re beginning to see that trend develop as we head into this weekend and early next week.
Justin Glisan will join us again during the first week of December to recap the month of November.
