Storm Lake, IA (KICD) — 2023 is one of those landmark anniversaries for the city of Storm Lake. Mayor Mike Porsch read the proclamation kicking off the sesquicentennial at last week’s city council meeting.

Police Chief Chris Cole says Storm Lake’s police officers and fire firefighters will be wearing throw-back badges for the entire year.

The first settler us believed to have arrived in 1857 with Storm Lake becoming an incorporated community in 1873.
