Spencer, IA (KICD) — The first temporary housing opportunity has arrived in Spencer. Deputy City manager Kevin Robinson says the R.V.s across from the fairgrounds are being provided by the state of Iowa.
Warmer, two-to-three-bedroom trailers from the federal government should arrive this fall.
The state of Iowa has identified eighty cases requiring temporary housing and FEMA has identified 350. Robinson says individuals might roll over from one program to the other if they don’t find adequate lodging before winter.
The deadline to apply is fast approaching: August 23rd.
