Des Moines, IA (KICD) — The State Auditor’s office says it found no problems in its annual audit of O’Brien County’s books. Each public entity in Iowa must be audited annually, either by a private firm or the state.
Rob Sands’ office says revenue for the fiscal year was 16.04 million dollars, down 26 percent from the prior year mainly due to a decrease in capital grants from the D-O-T for road repairs.
Expenses were down 10.4 percent to 13.29 million dollars in large part because fewer drainage district repairs.
The county finished the year with total assets valued at 51.83 million dollars up from 49.07 million. The net position – or cash in the bank – was 2.76 million dollars, up 5.6 percent from fiscal year 2021.
