Sioux Center, Ia (KICD) – Several area schools attended the Sioux Center Cross Country Invite at Dordt University on Thursday.

In the Girls race, Lennox’s Kelsey Schmidt won with a time of 19:14.84. Spencer’s Peyton Morey took 4th, clocking 19:47.86

Lennox of South Dakota won with 54 points. Spencer placed 5th with 143. Cherokee was 7th, Okoboji 11th, and Spirit Lake 12th.

North of Sioux City’s Kuma Gutema won the Boys race with a time of 16:03.5. Spirit Lake’s Brandon Hughes would finish 2nd at 16:32.35, followed by his teammate Dietrich Dirks who placed 3rd at 16:39.59. Okoboji’s Evan Osler took 6th, clocking 17 minutes point one eight seconds. His teammate Trigg Heimdal wasn’t too far behind in 7th with a time of 17:01.68.

North of Sioux City dominated with 57 points. Okoboji was 2nd with 103, edging out their rivals Spirit Lake in 3rd with 109. Sheldon was 8th, Spencer 9th, Cherokee 11th, Sibley-Ocheyedan 12th, and Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn finished 15th.
