Sanborn, Iowa (NorthwestIowaNow.com) –This has been a difficult season for pumpkin growers across the country, due to heavy rainfall in the north, and extreme heat in the southern states. The result was a later harvest than normal, and prices for pumpkins will likely be higher this year. Amy Solsma, owner of Solsma Punkin Patch in Sanborn, says the wet spring presented challenges.
But having to plant and replant several times, did not affect the opening for the Solsma Punkin Patch.
Solsma Punkin Patch on Highway 18 east Sanborn is a family-owned business, and they are celebrating 25 years this year.
