Estherville, IA (Northwest Iowa Now) — The Emmet County Sheriff’s Department charged a Spirit Lake man with drug possession after a traffic stop in the early morning hours of August 7th.

The Deputy on duty says he stopped 50-year-old Robbie Mitchell for speeding and found drugs in the vehicle.

Mitchell was charged with 1st offense possession of methamphetamine, 1st office possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and having an open container of alcohol.

The Sheriff’s Department was backed up at the scene by the Estherville Police Department.
