Spencer, IA (Northwest Iowa Now) — Several new hunting seasons kick off during the holiday weekend. DNR Enforcement Officer Joe Yarkowski was a recent guest on KICD’s “Big Interview.”

 

 

Yarkowski participated in the roadside pheasant count conducted earlier this month.

 

 

The DNR counted nineteen birds every thirty miles, down four from last year. Heavy rain negatively impacted nesting habittat this summer.
