Des Moines, IA (northwestiowanow.com) — According to the latest USDA Drought Monitor update, drought conditions across northwest Iowa remain largely unchanged from the previous week.
O’Brien County continues to experience Moderate D1 drought conditions throughout the entire county. Similarly, Lyon, Dickinson, Emmet, Cherokee, and Palo Alto counties remain classified as Abnormally Dry (D0).
In Clay County, drought varies: the eastern portion remains under Moderate D1 drought, while the far western part has been elevated to Severe D2 drought status.
Pocahontas County is currently drought-free, as is the far eastern portion of Buena Vista County.
