Spencer, IA (NorthwestIowaNow) Early this morning, there were seven Severe Thunderstorm Warnings issued across the region between 12:40 a.m. and 3:00 a.m. The main threat was damaging wind gusts. Winds were strong enough to cause power outages in several northwest Iowa communities. The strongest reported wind gust was recorded at a personal weather station two miles north of Fostoria, where winds reached 75 mph.

There were 14 storm reports across the region. In Ocheyedan, a metal storage shed was destroyed. The bulk of the damage occurred in Lake Park, where a grain bin was damaged and several trees were knocked down throughout the community.
