Arnolds Park, IA (KICD) — The Iowa Great Lakes Chamber of Commerce hosted a public meeting on the Highway 71 rebuild Wednesday night. Engineer Darwin Bishop says major portions are done, and some connecting segments should be wrapped up before the snow flies.

Bishop says despite a wet spring the project is still ahead of schedule.

At this point, it looks like some non-highway work will have to be wrapped up in the spring of 2025.

The highway 71 project through Okoboji is being done in segments so as not to interfere with tourist traffic between Memorial Day and Labor Day.
