Spencer, IA (Northwest Iowa Now) — A contingent of nearly 40 Republican lawmakers has filed suit to stop the Summit Carbon Pipeline. Senator Dave Rowley from Spirit Lake believes the Iowa Utility Board overstepped its bounds when they approved the license.
Rowley isn’t sure if the legislature will pursue legislation to further specify what constitutes “public good.”
Summit Carbon Solutions is holding a series of public meetings in the KICD Broadcast area this week. Last month the EPA said that an underground carbon storage facility owned by ADM leaked into the surrounding area in Illinois.
