Estherville, Ia (Northwest Iowa Now) – The Spencer Tiger Baseball team rolled in to Estherville and blew out their Lakes Conference foes with an offensive onslaught, ending the game in 4 innings via 15-run Mercy-Rule.

Spencer loaded up the bases with 1 out in the top of the first but were only able to drive in one run on an RBI walk by Maxx Techen.  That would be the least offensive pressure the Tigers applied for the rest of the game.

After a 3-up-3-down bottom half of the 1st, Spencer scored 3 in the 2nd, highlighted by a George Lawson 2RBI double.

After holding Estherville Lincoln Central in check for the bottom of the 2nd, Spencer really opened things up in the 3rd, rolling out a 12-run parade on 9 hits and 4 walks.  Jace McCormick brought the most fireworks in the inning, bringing in 4 runs in two separate plate appearances, hitting a triple and a single while scoring two runs.

George Lawson continued to mow down the ELC lineup on the defensive side of things in the bottom of the 3rd.  A Spencer offense that simply couldn’t wait to get to the plate came back up in the top of the 4th, and Maxx Techen picked up where the team left off in the previous inning.

The Tigers struck for 4 more runs in the inning, capped off by an Evan Ver Steeg 2RBI triple to make it 21-0.

Estherville Lincoln Central went 3-up-3-down in the bottom of the 4th, ending the game with the Spencer win.
