The Clay County Fair has kicked off it’s “Plant for the Future” program.
The Clay County Fair and Events Center won two first place awards last week from the International Association of Fairs and Expositions.
Sales were up 4 percent both Monday and Tuesday, and a whopping 23 percent on Wednesday. And nearly a third of spending on food and beverages is at local, non-profit booths.
The event also served to inspire new artists, with last year’s Iowa Rocks Talent contest winners, Des Moines-based Procedure” performed on the Northwest Bank stage Thursday night.
Families continue to flock to The Depot Building to experience the model railroad at the Clay County Fair.
This sandwich features grilled bison steak on a hoagie bun, layered with American cheese, crunchy chili cheese Fritos, and a drizzle of creamy queso.
“Together for Tomorrow – Transforming Spaces, Building Futures” is the vision for fundraising for Clay County Fair 4-H spaces improvements.

Brockshus says the partnership with the Arnolds Park – based Iowa Rock and Roll Music Association is another example of important partnerships at the fair.
