Sioux Center, Ia (Northwest Iowa Now) – Emmetsburg, Sibley-Ocheyedan, and St. Mary’s of Storm Lake Track and Field attended the Dordt High School Invite in Sioux Center on Monday.

The Sibley-Ocheyedan girls 4x800m Relay team of Marco, Benitez, Gacke, and Pohlen won with a time of 11:17.23.

The General Boys 4x800m Relay team also won with a time of 8:40.47 made up of a team of Kreykes, Dykstra, Reiter, and Poppen.

Bronson Dietrich of Emmetsburg took 1st in the Boys 60m Hurdles with a time of 8.81 seconds while Sibley-Ocheyedan’s Luke Heilman ran 8.85 to place 2nd.

Emmetsburg’s Brayden Yates ran 7.5 seconds in the 60m Dash to place 3rd.

In the Girls 400m Dash, Riley Childs of Sibley-Ocheyedan took 3rd with a time of 1:09.78.

For the Boys 400m Dash, Tate Marco of Sibley-Ocheyedan won with a time of 54.1 seconds and his teammate Cole Dykstra was 2nd at 55.32 seconds. Emmetsburg’s JJ Fiene was 3rd with a time of 55.93.

The Emmetsburg Girls 4x200m Relay team of Schany, Rouse, Hall, and Walker were 2nd at 1:58.61.

The E-Hawk Boys 4x200m Relay team also took 2nd at 1:39.69 with a team made up of Dietrich, Householder, Jenness, and Yates.

Cale Reiter of Sibley-Ocheyedan won the Boys 800m Run at 2:08.15 with teammate David Poppen in 2nd at 2:08.46.

The Generals got a gold from Luke Heilman in the Boys 200m Dash with a time of 24.88 seconds. His teammate Hunter Kauffman was 3rd with a time of 25.5 seconds.

The Girls 4x400m Relay had Sibley-Ocheyedan in 2nd with a time of 4:35.86 with a team of Ochoa, Marco, Pohlen, and Benitez. Emmetsburg’s team of Schany, Krause, Rosue, and Hall was 3rd at 4:40.25.

The Sibley-Ocheyedan Boys team of Kreykes, Dykstra, Poppen, and Marco won with a time of 3:48.41.

Rachel Schany of Emmetsburg was 2nd in the Girls Long Jump with a leap of 16ft 8.25 inches. Schany was also the winner in the Girls High Jump as the only athlete to compete and clear a height.

Byron Maina of Emmetsburg would hit 6 feet 2 inches in the Boys High Jump to win with his teammate Clayton Hoch taking 3rd with a mark of 5 feet 8 inches.

In the Girls Shot Put, it was Sloan Rodemeyer of Emmetsburg tossing 31 feet 4.5 inches to take 2nd.

For the Boys Shot Put, Gage Greenfield of Sibley-Ocheyedan won with a throw of 44 feet 8.75 inches.
