Cherokee, IA (Northwestiowanow.com) — The Cherokee Fire Department was dispatched a few minutes before midnight Tuesday. Chief Casey Carpenter says they found a large blaze at the rear of 300 West View Drive.
The fire department went above and beyond the call of duty actually covering a hole in the roof before they left.
Cherokee Police and Ambulance, The Cherokee CountySheriff’s Departrment, Alliant Energy and MidAmerica assisted on scene. Chief Carpenter says there were no injuries. The origin of the fire is under investigation but arson is NOT suspected. The Cherokee County Assessor’s office lists the owner of the property as Shane Claussen.
