The Spencer Girls Soccer team was back home on Thursday night to host Storm Lake.
The Tigers put together a lot of shots early on but weren’t able to break through for most of the first 10 minutes. Avery McEntee would get the scoring started in the 10th minute, putting Spencer up 1-0.
Addison Hoben notched another goal in the 14th minute for the start of what would end up as another very big day for her.
Avery McEntee came back with another goal early in the 16th minute, her 3rd this season.
Lauren Horst made the Tiger lead 4 with her first goal of the season coming from the left side.
Spencer would go another 8-minute stretch without a score, before Hoben caught fire, scoring goals in the 33rd, 36th, and 38th minute, giving the Tigers an 8-0 lead going in to the half.
Hoben would score her 4th straight to open up the second half in the 43rd minute.
Ingrid Gustafson came in a few minutes later and immediately scored her second goal on the season, putting Spencer up 10-0 and ending the game by mercy rule.
This is Spencer’s 12th straight shutout of the Tornadoes and 7th straight game ended early.
Next up for Storm Lake is a road trip to Orange City where they will play Unity Christian.
Spencer will be in Hawarden on April 7th to play West Sioux.

In other Northwest Iowa Soccer League girls contests last night, Spirit Lake/Park/Okoboji beat Western Christian of Hull 5-1, Unity Christian of Orange City routed West Sioux 10-1, and Sioux Center shut out Sergeant Bluff-Luton 4-0.
On the Boys side of the Northwest Iowa Soccer League, Boyden-Hull/Rock Valley lost to Le Mars 3-0, Spirit Lake/Park/Okoboji tied with WEster Christian of Hull 2-2, and Sioux Center tied Sergeant Bluff-Luton 1-1.
