Storm Lake, Iowa (northwestiowanow.com) — Numerous properties across Storm Lake sustained damage during severe storms in the early morning hours of Friday, April 18. In response, the City of Storm Lake has established three designated drop-off sites where residents can dispose of storm debris over the coming days.

City officials extended their sincere gratitude to the many area fire departments and volunteers who responded swiftly to assist with storm recovery efforts. All Buena Vista County fire departments participated in damage assessment and response, along with support from the Cherokee Fire Department. Later in the day, Spencer Fire Department provided relief for local crews. Volunteers from several surrounding communities have also contributed their time, labor, and equipment.

Those interested in volunteering for cleanup efforts on Saturday, April 19 are encouraged to report to the Storm Lake Fire Station between 7:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.
