Washington, D.C. (NorthwestIowaNow.com) – The latest update from the USDA Drought Monitor, as of 8 a.m. this morning, shows sight changes in drought conditions across several counties in the region.
Seven counties in the KICD listening area are now classified as D0 – Abnormally Dry. These counties include Osceola, Dickinson, Emmet, Palo Alto, Clay, and Cherokee.
O’Brien County continues to experience D1 – Moderate Drought conditions, with a small portion of Cherokee and Clay County also falling within the D1 category.
Pocahontas County is currently not experiencing any drought conditions, and more than half of Buena Vista County is also unaffected. However, the northern portion of Buena Vista County remains classified as Abnormally Dry (D0).
