Spencer, Ia (KICD) – The Spencer Radio Group had a full slate of Basketball Thursday night.

On News Radio 102.5 and AM 1240 KICD the Spencer Tigers boys and girls basketball teams went on the road to open Lakes Conference play at Spirit Lake.

In the Spencer Girls 56-44 victory, the Tigers were led by Jerra Merchant who scored 20. Jada Piercy and Jayna Graettinger each added 16. Spirit Lke was led in scoring by Charlotte Pritchard’s 12. The Tigers improve to 6-0 and 1-0 in the Lakes while Spirit Lake falls to 5-5 and 0-2 in the Lakes.

In the Spencer Boys 66-64 win, Owen Olson led the way with 29 points. Spirit Lake’s Tyler Voss had 22 and Caden Hassel scored 20 in the loss. The Tigers improve to 3-2 and 1-0 in the Lakes while Spirit Lake falls to 1-5 and 1-1 in the Conference.

On Big Country 107.7 Matt Groenewold had the call for Okoboji at Emmetsburg.

In the Okoboji girls 54-39 win, the Pioneers were led in scoring by Lynnae Abrahamson with 13. Myra Steffen scored 13 as well for the E-Hawks. Okoboji improves to 4-6 while Emmetsburg drops to 4-4.

In the Emmetsburg Boys 71-30 win, the E-Hawks were led in scoring by Gavin Swanson with 21. Aiden Dahms led the way for Okoboji with 9. Emmetsburg improves to 4-2 while Okoboji falls to 3-6.
