Jackson, MN (KICD)– Officials in Jackson are putting plans together to construct a new Law Enforcement Center and Government Services Building to replace aging facilities that are currently in use.

County Administrator Ryan Krosch tells KICD News the county jail is really taking the focus on this project simply to make sure law enforcement will be able to continue housing inmates.

On the Government Services side, Krosch says the building basically comes down to a need for space.

Krosch says the new facilities will be constructed as two separate structures across the street from the current locations.

When it comes to funding, Krosch says Jackson County is essentially on its own with no help coming from the State of Minnesota.

The current timeline has a bid opening hopefully planned for the 41.5 million dollar project in October with final construction expected to be completed in early 2026.
