Spencer, Ia (KICD) – The Iowa Lakes Men’s Soccer Team has begun pre-season activity. The Lakers are coming off of an 11-6 season where they spent much of the year in the NJCAA Division 1 Rankings. The season came to an end with a 2-0 loss in the NJCAA Division I Region XI First Round at the hands of Indian Hills.

Laker head coach Ben MacRae says the ICCAC Landscape is going to look different this year.

One of the differences in the conference this season is the addition of first year program Western Iowa Tech out of Sioux City. MacRae thinks they will be a good addition.

MacRae is looking forward to this week, which is where Iowa Lakes will find their identity.

A large Freshman class joins a solid group of returners this season for the Lakers.

Iowa Lakes will play exhibitions against Waldorf and Briar Cliff on August 12th and August 14th respectively. The regular season opens up in Sterling Colorado against Northeastern Junior College on Thursday August 17th.
