On Big Country 107.7, Matt Groenewold had the call of West Bend-Mallard at GTRA.
West Bend-Mallard would open things up with a 12 play 65 yard drive finished off by a 15 yard Touchdown run by Landon Montag to go up 6-0. Cole Fehr would then score for the Wolverines to make it 12-0. Landon Montag picked up his second rushing touchdown for West Bend-Mallard to make the score 20-0. Cole Fehr would then pick up his second rushing touchdown after an 8 play 44 yard drive to make the score 28-0.
GTRA would crack the scoreboard late in the 1st half when Kasey Hough connected with Collin Hoffman on a 4 yard Touchdown pass to make it 28-6 going in to the locker room.
The teams would trade scores through the 3rd quarter, making the score 44-18 going in to the final 12 minutes.
West Bend-Mallard would grow their lead in the 4th quarter with 2 unanswered scores, including a 24 yard Landon Montag Touchdown pass to Mitch Stevens.
West Bend-Mallard prevailed with the 58-18 win over GTRA to bring their district record back up to .500.
Landon Montag trotted for 146 yards and a couple of rushing touchdowns to go with his 87 yards and a touchdown through the air. Cole Fehr would also cross the century mark on the ground with 138 yards rushing and 4 Touchdowns.
The Wolverines outgained GTRA 419 to 166 in total yards of offense.
West Bend-Mallard will improve to 2-2 on the year and will see Harris-Lake Park in an important match up for the District race at home next week.
GTRA takes their first blemish on the year and will play St. Edmond of Fort Dodge next week for Homecoming.
