Spencer, IA (northwestiowanow) — Local female students and their families are invited to learn more about post-secondary education opportunities during an upcoming event November 1st.

Members Barbara Wilkerson and Tennie Binzer with PEO Chapter 80 stopped by the KICD studios to discuss the event at Arts on Grand this Sunday.

Binzer says the local chapter has provided nearly $20,000 in scholarships and grants over the past five years.

She says the organization wants to take that support a step further.

The event will feature representatives from University of Northern Iowa, Buena Vista University, Iowa Lakes Community College, military recruiting programs, and vocational career pathways.

There will also be refreshments, door prizes, and a drawing for a mini-scholarship.

More information is available through the Spencer High School Guidance Department.
