Sioux City, IA (northwestiowanow.com) — A Pocahontas man has been sentenced to 21 years after his conviction on drug and weapons charges.
47-year-old Jordan Mefferd reached a plea deal with prosecutors who charged him with conspiring with others to deliver illegal methamphetamines in Webster County on several occasions between July of 2024 and September of 2025. Undercover agents reported buying over 200 grams of the narcotic from Mefferd on four different occasions.
In September of 2025 officers executed a search warrant on Mefferd’s residence and his physical body finding four firearms and ammunition. As a previously convicted felon he was prohibited from possessing a firearm.
The case was investigated by local, state, and federal authorities and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Shawn S. Wehde.
The sentence was handed down this week by US District Court Judge Leonard T. Strand.
