Armstrong, IA (northwestiowanow) — Voters in the North Union Community School District will decide on a bond referendum that would fund construction of a new gymnasium and other facility improvements.
North Union Superintendent Travis Schueller says the $12 million proposal would be the district’s first bond-funded construction project in more than two decades.
The proposed improvements are aimed at addressing space limitations in the district’s current gymnasium.
Schueller says residents have been showing increased interest in the proposal as informational meetings continue across the district.
If approved, Schueller estimates the project would take about three years to complete, beginning with design work before moving into bidding and construction.
