Spencer, IA (KICD) — As promised, Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds made another visit with some of her top agency heads to flood-ravaged Northwest Iowa Wednesday. In Spencer KICD News asked the Governor to respond to a letter sent by the city of Okoboji after councilmembers said they felt the state was unaware of the level of flooding at the Great Lakes.

Reynolds also complimented an ad-hoc committee looking at long-term mitigation from the Minnesota border down to Cherokee County.

The Governor said the state will offer resources to the group, but stopped short of saying the state will step in to regulate water flows.

The first meeting of that Ad Hoc committee was closed to the media and the public. KICD News was told yesterday that the next meeting, scheduled for later in the month, will be held in public.
