Emmetsburg, IA (KICD) — Casino gambling revenue in Iowa and in Palo Alto County were both stable in the fiscal year that just ended.
Racing and Gaming Commission Director Katie Eick says gross revenue for the state in the twelve months ending June 30th, was one billion 755 million dollars, down 1.77 percent from fiscal year 2023.
Adjusted Gross Revenue was up point 57 percent to 31 million 538 thousand dollars at the Wild Rose Casino in Emmetsburg. Income from table games was down 11 percent to 1 million 570 thousand dollars, while income from slots was up 1.27 percent to 29 million 948 thousand dollars.
The Wild Rose was the lowest grossing land-based casino. The next lowest is their sister facility, the Wild Rose of Clinton, which brought in 33.9 million dollars. Only the Marquette riverboat The Casino Queen had lower revenue at 20.7 million. The top grossing casino was Prairie Meadows in Altoona – part of the Des Moines Metro – with 240 million 287 thousand dollars in gross revenue.
The report does not include the three casinos in Iowa operated by native Americans.
