Des Moines, Ia (KICD) – The Sibley-Ocheyedan Generals Girls Basketball Season came to an end in the Class 2A State Tournament Semi-Final against top ranked Dike-New Hartford 61-56. KICD’s Matt Groenewold was on the call for Big Country 107.7 and he was able to catch up with the General players and coaches afterword.

Sibley-Ocheyedan Senior Marissa Ackerman felt the Generals achieved a lot despite the State Semi-Final Loss.

Senior Bria Wasmund talked about the community support of the team after ending a long tournament drought.

General’s Senior Madison Brouwer talked about how close the team was.

Sibley-Ocheyedan coach Zach Wessels says it will be hard to repeat what this group has accomplished.

The Generals finished the year 2nd in the Siouxland Conference with a 22-4 overall record.
