Spencer, Ia (KICD) – The Twin Lakes Conference features some high-level competition on the Cross-Country course in 2024.
On the Girls side of things, last year’s top 2 teams at the Conference meet bring back a bunch, and that includes Alta-Aurelia. Coach Ariel Huseman is hoping some extra depth will get the Warriors into the State meet.
The Warrior boys are bringing back a host of athletes from last season’s 6th place finish in the conference. Huseman also says an infusion of youth could help this team as well.
Huseman is hoping both teams to compete in the top half of the Twin Lakes.
The Emmetsburg teams feature a lot of first-time Cross-Country runners. E-Hawk Coach Jessica Biddle talked about some of the keys when training those new to the sport.
Biddle mentioned a few courses that will help those new runners develop.
The Sioux Central Rebels should have a strong girls’ team that will directly compete with Alta-Aurelia for the Conference Title. The Rebels also bring a lot back on the boys side and will be looking to unseat East Sac County as the Conference champions.
