Paullina, Ia (KICD) – South O’Brien hosted the Wolverine Early Bird Track and Field Meet. KICD area schools attending were Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn, Okoboji, and Harris-Lake Park.

Here are top area finishers in the Girls Meet. South O’Brien won the Girls 800m Sprint Medley Relay with a team of Fredrichsen, Warnke, Warnke, and Conley with a time of 2 minutes point 24 seconds. Okoboji would come in second with a time of 2:01.6, their team made up of Wittrock, Helmers, Jorgensen, and Carstens. Okoboji’s Hailey Gravert would take 2nd din the 3000m Run with a time of 14:06.93. South O’Brien’s 4x800m Relay team of Conley, Conley, Wulf, and Wilson was 2nd with a time of 12:31.37. Okoboji would claim the top two spots in the 100m Dash with Ellsa Jorgensen taking first with a time of 13.1 seconds and Kishauna Allen in 2nd with a time of 13.59. Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn’s Emily Mutombo came in 3rd with a time of 13.84 seconds. South O’Brien’s Distance Medley Relay team of Stubbe, Friedichsen, Halverson, and Conley took 2nd with a time of 4:56.23. Okoboji’s Carly Carstens took 2nd in the 400m Dash with a time of 1:07.64. Okoboji’s 4×200 meter relay team of Wittrock, Peters, Menkers, and Hagedorn was 1st with a time of 2:04.04 and Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn’s team of Diehm, Otto, Mutombo, and Steffen was 3rd with a time of 2:15.55. Okoboji’s Makenna Helmers was 1st in the 100m Hurdles with a time of 17.7 seconds and teammate Addison Newton was 3rd with a time of 20.01. Okoboji’s Carly Carstens took 1st in the 800m run with a time of 2:40.01 with South O’Brien’s Takara Conley in 2nd with a time of 2:44.87. Okoboji took 1st and 2nd in the 200m Dash with Ellsa Jorgensen crossing first with a time of 27.43 and teammate Kishauna Allen next with a time of 27.45 seconds. Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn’s Emily Mutombo was 3rd with a time of 29.25. South O’Brien’s Taja Conley was 1st in the 400 Meter Hurdles with a time of 1:21.2 with Okoboji’s Jocelyn Heller in 2nd with a time of 1:21.47 and Tatiana Conley placing 3rd for South O’Brien with a time of 1:21.79. Takara Conley was 3rd in the 1500m Run for South O’Brien with a time of 5:55.33. Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn’s team of Mohnie, Otto, Otto, and Mutombo was 1st in the 4x100m relay with a time of 57.1 seconds with Okoboji’s team of Manken, Hagedorn, Bunde, and Wittrock coming in second with a time of 57.56 seconds. In the 4x400m Relay South O’Brien’s team of Conley, Conley, Halverson, and Strubbe was 2nd with a time of 4:46.52. In the Girls Shot Put South O’Brien’s Maddie Jonson got 1st with a throw of 35 feet 7.25 inches with teammate Clara Larsen in second with a throw of 29 feet 8.75 inches. Okoboji’s Peyton Schmitz was 3rd with a toss of 28 feet 3.5 inches. Harris Lake-Park’s Kendal Niemeier was 1st in the High Jump with a height of 5 feet.

South O’Brien’s 800m Sprint Medley Relay team of Riedemann, Tjossem, Oolman, and Conley would place 1st with a time of 1:40.32 with Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn’s team of Borden, Araiza, Diehm, and Gellerman placing 3rd with a time of 1:45.89. Okoboji’s Evan Osler was 1st in the 3200m run with a time of 9:59.03 with teammate Lane Larson coming in 3rd with a time of 11:10.26. Okoboji’s 4x800m relay team of Hesse, Sanven, Jostand, and Heimdal took 1st with a time of 8:45.9. Okoboji’s Tyler Schman was 1st in the 100 meter dash with a time of 11.73 seconds, Hartely-Melvin-Sanborn’s Ryan Borden was 2nd with a time of 12.19, South O’Brien’s Cole Tjossem was 3rd with a time of 12.23. South O’Brien’s Willie Conley was 1st with a time of 52.92 seconds, Okoboji’s Dyaln Jones was 2nd with a time of 53.32 seconds. Okoboji’s 4x200m Relay team of Schman, Salmon, Santos, and Schlachter was 1st with a time of 1:35.7. South O’Brien’s Boston Riedemann took 2nd in the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 16.93 while Okoboji’s Elijah Graves placed 3rd with a time of 17.67. Okoboji’s Evan Osler was 1st in the 800m run with a time of 2:14.08 with teammate Dylan Jones coming in second with a time of 2:16.08. In the 200m Dash it was Okoboji’s Joe Salmon taking 1st with a time of 24.25, South O’Brien’s Willie Conley in 2nd with a time of 24.93, and Okoboji’s Domenic Jutting in 3rd with a time of 25.1 seconds. Okoboji’s Drew Sandven came in 2nd in the 400m Hurdles with a time of 1:00.97 with Harris-Lake Park’s Devin Meyer in 3rd with a time of 1:01.53. Okoboji’s Trigg Heimdal was 1st in the 1600m run with a time of 4:47.61. The Okoboji 4×100 Meter Relay team of Chman, Salmon, Santos, and Jutting was 1st with a time of 45.67 seconds with Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn’s team of Borden, Araiza, Gellerman, and Diehm in 2nd with a time of 46.88 seconds. In the 4x400m Relay the Okoboji team of Schlacther, Jones, Sandven and Osler was 1st with a time of 3:35.54. Okoboji’s Logan Duvall was 2nd in the Shot put with a throw of 38 feet 11 inches. South O’Brien’s Willie Conley was 1st in the High Jump with a height of 6 feet.

In the Team Standings, Okoboji came in first for the girls with 169 points, South O’Brien was 3rd with 114, Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn in 4th with 44, and Harris-Lake Park in 6th with 15. Okoboji also won the boys meet with 164 points with South O’Brien in 3rd with 85, Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn in 5th with 40, and Harris-Lake Park came in 6th with 24 points.
