Orange City, Ia (Northwest Iowa Now) – Some KICD Area Cross Country teams competed at Landsmeer Golf Club hosted by Unity Christian of Orange City for the Class 2A State Qualifier.
Unity Christian’s Addison Liston won the girls race, running 19:15.5. Cherokee’s Stefi Beisswenger will move on to the State Meet with a 9th place finish, running 20:55.45.
In the Girls team standings, Unity Christian of Orange City took home the title with 33 points, Roland-Story was 2nd with 69, and Cherokee took 3rd with 90. Those three teams advance to the State Meet in Fort Dodge. Estherville Lincoln Central was 9th and Spirit Lake placed 11th.
For the Boys race, Spirit Lake’s Brandon Hughes won the individual title with a time of 16:00.36. Spirit Lake went 3 and 4 with Dietrich Dirks going 16:36.47 and Jace Hungerford clocking 16:42.36. Estherville Lincoln Central’s Warren Duitsman will move on to the State Meet, placing 13th with a time of 17:19.56. spirit Lake’s carter Trautman is also going to Fort Dodge with a time of 17:20.38 which placed him 14th.
Spirit Lake won the Boys team title with 56 points, just ahead of 2nd place Unity Christian of Orange City with 57. Garner-Hayfield-Ventura rounded out the Team Qualifiers in 3rd with 78 points. Estherville Lincoln Central was 8th and Cherokee took 11th.
