Des Moines, IA — One of the main headlines across Iowa during the month of July was the intense heat. State Climatologist Justin Glisan tells us where July 2026 ranks among the warmest Julys on record.

We had a large bullseye of rainfall across central and northeastern Iowa. Northwest Iowa experienced a rainfall deficit, along with parts of southeastern and western Iowa.
