Okoboji, IA (NorthwestIowaNow) — The Dickinson County Conservation Board is inviting the public to celebrate the grand opening of Sherwood Forest Park in Okoboji later this month.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony is scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday, July 20, at the park on Lake Shore Drive. Following a brief welcome and official ribbon cutting, visitors will have the opportunity to explore the park’s newest recreational features.
Sherwood Forest Park offers attractions for all ages, including a bike pump track with beginner, intermediate and advanced skill levels, plus a large playground featuring four oversized slides and nature-inspired climbing structures.
The park also includes modern restrooms, shaded seating areas, native landscaping, an off-road mountain bike trail with technical obstacles, and about two miles of biking and walking trails.
Conservation officials say the park was designed to provide a variety of ways for visitors to enjoy the outdoors, whether it’s riding, hiking, climbing or simply relaxing in a natural setting.
