Police Chief Alex Leu tells KICD News his department received the report around 3:30 Saturday afternoon.
A Lakeside man is facing multiple felony charges after being arrested Tuesday evening on several warrants.
Sentencing is scheduled for May 5th at the Buena Vista County Courthouse.
Cristobal Del Angel Sr., 38, of Newell, was sentenced on March 10, 2026, to a maximum of 92 years in prison.
Investigation has been ongoing and involved several agencies.
A Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Deputy clocked 52-year-old Steven Himes of Ottosen driving 84 miles-per-hour in a 55 mile-per-hour zone at the Emmet County border around 8:30pm.
During transport to the O’Brien County Jail, the suspect reportedly slammed his head into the vehicle’s security divider, defacing it and requiring later cleaning by staff.
The suspect turned himself in on March 3 and was transported to the Buena Vista County Jail, where he is being held on a $55,000 bond.
